At Parks Tacoma there are many ways to participate in active and healthy activities. Run on our trails, walk in the parks or participate in fitness, wellness and active living programs at one of our community centers.

Our Adaptive Recreation program provides recreational, social, and athletic opportunities for people with physical disabilities along with their friends, and their families.
Nature and Environment

Tacoma is blessed with an abundance of natural areas, from 760-acre Point Defiance Park with its old-growth forest, to Wright Park’s arboretum, to the centrally located Snake Lake trail system, you’ll find trails and undisturbed natural areas in all corners of our town.
By taking a nature walk or visiting our nature-themed facilities—W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory, Tacoma Nature Center, Northwest Trek and Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium—you will establish connections with our natural environment for the sake of finding and sustaining a relaxed state of mind.
