Policy

Purpose:

All public records shall be and remain the property of the Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma and the state of Washington. They shall be delivered by outgoing officials and employees to their successors and shall be preserved, stored, transferred, destroyed or disposed of, and otherwise managed, only in accordance with the provisions of chapter 40.14 RCW.

Policy Requirements:

Section I.

In order to insure the proper management and safeguarding of public records, the Board of Park Commissioners authorizes the Executive Director to appoint a Records Officer and develop administrative procedures to comply with the provisions of RCW 40.14 and coordinate such procedures with the division of archives and records management in the office of the Secretary of State.
