Explore Tacoma’s Parks with a naturalist. Discover amazing plants and animals and how they adapt to the seasons. Currently, walks are available at the Tacoma Nature Center by reservation.

• Nature Discovery Walks are an hour-long.
• $50 per park per group of up to 10 scouts and up to 4 accompanying leaders/chaperones.
• Up to 2 additional participants are allowed at a rate of $5.00 per scout.
• Absolute maximum of 12 youth.

Groups must follow scout safety protocols and provide the proper number of chaperones/leaders. Program is only for scouts. No siblings allowed.

Please note that although the walks have a nature focus, the content of the walk will not be thorough or deep enough to meet any complete set of badge requirements for any scouting organization. Please do indicate your area(s) of highest interest when booking a walk.

The Tacoma Nature Center is now accepting private girl scout troop badge programs for Brownie, Junior and Cadette Troop Badges.

• Dates fill quickly so book early. Have several weekend date options available when you call. 
  
• Two week minimum notice is needed for troop programs.
• Staff is available Tuesday – Saturday.
• Summer scout program opportunities are very limited. Please contact us if you would like to explore options.
• Minimum payment for an individual troop program is for 10 Scouts and must be made at time of reservation.
• Adults are free and must provide appropriate adult:child ratio.
• The programs are designed for scouts only. Siblings are not allowed to participate.

Brownie Troop Badges

Troop programs are $15.00 per girl and are 2-1/2 hours long. Purchase of badges is the responsibility of the troop leader, available through the Girl Scout Store.
