Benefits for Career Employees

  • Competitive Based Compensation: Considers wage compensation that is equitable and market driven.
  • Life Insurance: Equal to annual salary up to $200,000 at no cost to the employee.

  • Vacation: 8 hours earned monthly (12 days per year) with an escalation to 10-20 hours per month, commensurate with the years of service
  • Sick Leave: 8 hours earned monthly.
  • Administrative Leave: 40 hours granted per year for exempt employee classifications.

  • Medical Coverage: For employees and their dependents. Parks Tacoma pays 90% of the total cost of medical coverage through Kaiser Permanente.
  • Paid Time Off: 8 hours earned monthly
  • Sick Leave: 1 hour earned for every 40 hours worked

Benefits for Part-Time Benefits Eligible Employees (25-29 hours a week)

  • Retirement Plan: Membership in the Washington Department of Retirement Services Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) program.
  • Medical Coverage: Parks Tacoma pays 90% of the total cost of employee only medical coverage through Kaiser Permanente.
  • Paid Time Off: 8 hours earned monthly
  • Sick Leave: 1 hour earned for every 40 hours worked
