Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, ZEED Deputy Director

Rick Dietz began at Northwest Trek in 2017. He oversees all park operations and staff, supporting the ZEED director.

Rick is a professional fellow of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums, with a career that has taken him from Louisiana zookeeper to curator and director positions. He previously served as vice-president of The Wilds/Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, and has a passion for conserving native species and habitats. Believing deeply in helping people interact and connect with nature and animals, he combines leadership and management skills with a deep knowledge of conservation, education and animal care.

Rick earned his Bachelor of Biology degree from Loyola University, serves as an AZA accreditation inspector and recently completed the AZA Executive Leadership Development Program.
