Chief Marketing & Communications Officer

Sandra Eliason joined Parks Tacoma in March 2017 as the district’s Chief Marketing & Communications Officer. Sandra’s career experiences in marketing, sales, and non-profit development provide an ideal skillset for this position.

While running her own marketing consultancy she developed and implemented strategies for companies including Adobe, Apple Computer, Microsoft, and Starbucks among others. After successfully operating her own business for six years, Sandra was recruited by her clients at Starbucks to serve as Senior Marketing Manager and later served as Vice-President of Creative Services for Getty Images.

Prior to joining the Parks Tacoma staff, Sandra spent two years in philanthropic development with a focus on bolstering academic achievement in Tacoma by serving as the Director of Funding Alignment for the Foundation for Tacoma Students.

Sandra spent most of her childhood in Tacoma where she graduated from Mount Tahoma High School, before earning her BA in Communications from Washington State University.

Sandra is active in the community and serves on the Foundation for Tacoma Students Board, and is on the Leadership Council for Big Brothers Big Sisters Tacoma-Pierce County.
