We're working to create a vision for the future of Tacoma's waterfront—what it looks like, what it offers, and how it can be improved.
What is Envision Our Waterfront?
Parks Tacoma and the City of Tacoma are taking a deep look at the community’s waterfront. We’re asking big questions and garnering big ideas. In the end, we want to produce a community vision for the Tacoma waterfront—what it looks like, what it offers, and how to improve it for future generations. Why?
Equity, access and the need for infrastructure improvements are driving the process. Ruston Way already is a premier recreation destination for Tacoma. It is also in need of critical upgrades. Thirty years of saltwater, plus rising sea levels mean we need to identify where to put our resources. We need you to help us envision the future of your Tacoma waterfront.News
