Search among select artifacts from the Fort Nisqually Permanent Collection
Among the artifacts you’ll find are treasures from the people who lived and worked on the Puget Sound in the mid-1800s.
See the traveling trunk that belonged to Chief Factor William Fraser Tolmie or the bedstead handmade by Hudson Bay Company employee John McLeod. A small pewter spoon handed down as an heirloom, a powderhorn with amateur scrimshaw, and the brightly colored trade beads that were at the heart of the fur trade all have a story to tell.
This project made possible through the support of:

- Pierce County Historic Preservation Grant Program
