Learn how to teach swimming skills to students of all ages. How do people learn? How are adult learners different than preschoolers? Learn how to organize and safely deliver a swim lesson class with our swim instructor training courses.
Our training courses are for those who intend to work at Parks Tacoma pools. If you’re planning to work somewhere else you should have your training completed with that agency.
Prerequisites:
- Must be at least 15 years old
- Enjoy working with children
- Able to swim 25 yards and tread water for 1 minute
- Wants to work for Parks Tacoma
Bring a swimsuit and towel for pool sessions.
- Interview for a job! Those who successfully pass the Swim Instructor Training Course will be eligible for employment opportunities.
