Youth Baseball Leagues – Volunteer Coach
Apply online to be a volunteer coach- Volunteer to coach!
- Each sport has two leagues to choose from:
- Tacoma School Recreation League
- Community Competitive League
- Both leagues are run by Parks Tacoma, participants register through the Parks Tacoma website. (Coaches sign up here)
- Practices on weekday evenings in a place determined by Parks Tacoma sports staff in coordination with coaches and parents.

About the Leagues
Tacoma School Recreation League
- Teams are grouped by school and grade.
- Anyone can sign up—participants choose the school they attend or live near during registration.
- Coach requests are not permitted in this league.
- This league is recreational.
- If schools do not have enough participants, schools may be combined in order to reach roster requirements.
- Participants will be assigned a coach and will practice at least once a week with a game each Saturday for seven weeks.
About coaching in this league:
Pick your school and grade when you complete your volunteer application.
Community Competitive League
- Teams are grouped by age.
- Youth from any location or school district can play in this league.
- Coach requests are permitted (but not guaranteed).
- This league includes increased competition, standings, and a playoff tournament.
- Participants will be assigned a coach and will practice at least once a week with a game each Saturday for seven weeks.
- Playoffs are held at the end of the season.

- Training scheduled the week of June 15, 2026 (exact date(s) TDB).
- Camps run: June 22 – August 28, 2026.
- Shift options: 8:00 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. or 12:30 P.M. – 5:00 P.M.
- Coaches will be scheduled at various Parks Tacoma locations.

Beyond the Bell Coach
- Get paid to coach
- 3-6 pm on Mon/Wed , Tues/Thur and/or Friday in 8-week sessions
- Beyond the Bell is held at all Tacoma Public Schools (TPS) elementary school locations.
