Get ready for a paws-itively fun time at the Thirsty Dog Run on September 5 at Titlow Park. Whether you’re running or walking this dog friendly race is guaranteed fun for all that attend.
All dogs are welcome but must be accompanied by their human friend and must stay on leash for the entirety of the event. Pet owners are responsible for their dog’s behavior at the park. If they are displaying aggressive or overly disruptive behavior, the owner and pet will be asked to leave.

What time does the race start?
The race starts at 10:00am on Saturday, September 5 at Titlow Park.
What is the race distance?
The race is 2.4 miles long.
What is the course?
The course map is shown below and will be sent out in reminder emails to registered participants. The course will start and finish outside the lawn space in front of the Titlow Lodge. It will travel across grass, dirt pathways, and paved pathways. When starting the race, we will want runners near the front and the walkers near the back to avoid congestion.

The race price will increase per the dates below:
- June 2 to June 15- $30 with Cup. $15 without Cup.
- June 16 to August 24 – $35 with Cup. $20 without Cup.
- August 25 to September 4 – $40 with Cup. $25 without Cup.
- September 5 & 6th $45 with Cup. $30 without Cup.
Does every participant receive a free root beer float?
Participants who purchase a souvenir cup during the registration process will receive a root beer float in their cup after the race.
Cups may be available for purchase at the event but this is not guaranteed. It’s recommended to purchase one in advance during race registration.
Where to park on the race day?
There will be limited parking available in the lot at Titlow. We recommend carpooling. Please do not leave valuables in cars.
When can I pick up my race packet?
Packet pickup will be at Titlow Lodge on Friday September 4, from 12-5 pm. There will also be day of packet pickup at Titlow Lodge at the Parks Tacoma Tent starting at 9:00am.
You are able to pick up your friends or family’s packets for them! Please communicate with them prior who is picking up and coordinate that and we can accommodate.
Will there be day of registration?
The race is capped at 250 participants to safely provide this running experience. If we fill up registration before there will not be day of registration. If we still have spots you can sign up on race day anytime between 9:00-9:45 am.
What do I get with my registration?
Each participant will receive a sticker, a newly designed commemorative race bib, and a cup for Root Beer Floats as part of their registration fee.
You can opt out of the cup and Root Beer Float and save $15 on your registration.
What if I got the incorrect race packet?
We apologize for the inconvenience with your packet. Please contact our race team at [email protected] or at 253-213-2394 so that we can get you the correct items.
Will there be a bag check at the race?
We will not be offering bag checks at the race this year. Please plan accordingly and we recommend not leaving valuables in vehicles.
Will the race be timed?
Yes, the race will be chip timed. Race times will be posted online within 48 hours after the event.
Do the top participants win anything?
The top male, top female, and top non-binary participant will be recognized. Winners will need to stick around to receive this and capture a photo.
Can my dog run with me?
Of course! All dogs must be accompanied by their human friend and must stay on leash for the entirety of the event. You are responsible for your dog’s behavior If they are displaying aggressive or overly disruptive behavior, you will be asked to leave.
Is the course stroller friendly?
No unfortunately this course is not stroller friendly.
What if I cannot make the race anymore?

What is our refund policy?
If you decide to withdraw from the race on or after August 21 you will only be eligible for a 50% refund. No refunds will be given for withdrawals on or after September 5.
