Connecting more visitors to Point Defiance Park

Loop Trail Phase II is finished and open to the public! Detours have been removed and all areas of the park can be accessed by vehicles from both the Pearl Street and Mildred Street entrances.

Phase II of the trail connects with the trail built during Phase I, creating a multi-modal trail that allows pedestrian and cyclist visitors to easily access the park. This project increases connectivity, safety, and accessibility between major destinations in Point Defiance Park.

In the map, the orange line indicates the section of the trail completed in Phase I, with Phase II marked in yellow.

The second phase of Loop Trail created 1.6 miles of trail that is separated from the roadway to connect visitors to Wilson Way Bridge, the Pagoda, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, the Environmental Learning Center and Owen Beach.

This work is a key element in addressing safety needs and was identified as a community priority during the 2015 update to the Point Defiance Master Plan.
