The Waterwalk stretches along Commencement Bay’s shoreline adjacent to the Point Ruston development.
This paved, asphalt surface is open to the public. It is nearly one mile long and includes a ribbon of grass flanked by a crushed-rock trail.
It features artwork and tile mosaics on the theme of Pacific Ocean marine life by artists Robert Gilbert, Anna Fornachon and Jeremy Gregory.
The Waterwalk hosts many types of recreational users from walkers to runners to cyclists. The east end of the Waterwalk connects to the Ruston Way sidewalk and other waterfront parks managed by Parks Tacoma. On the west end, the Waterwalk links to Dune Peninsula and Wilson Way, and into Point Defiance Park.
